plagiarism
i dont think that the school is being too harsh on the kids. the kids need to start doing their own work rather than copying someone elses. it's not right to copy someone elses imformation and claim it as if its yours. plagiarism doesnt seem very appealing to me because you are copying someone elses ideas rather than having your own. i dont think its that hard to use your own words and paraphrase what someone is saying. the university shouldnt allow this types of problems to be happening. i would've probably at least warned everyone by telling them what the consequenses would be if they plagiarise but as a college student you should know better.

good! i don't think that they're being to harsh either, they are jut trying to teach the students that they need to do their own work!
The bigger problem here is the kind of plagiarism.I don't think the school made a fair or good decision. They expelled these kids for "plagiarising" on a little movie review. They did not copy some scientific info they simply got expelled for using common everday words in a paper that just happened to be on a wikepidia site(not suprising)
The kids did a very bad thing but i think the universisty should give them a second chance to prove that they could better.
true that, if the rules are clear and cut, out they go but it the rules had gray in it warning first, roll heads next time.
